Methylmalonic acid (MMA) LC-MS
Methylmalonic Acid (MMA) LC-MS Reagens Kit
Advantages of the Diagnotix Methylmalonic (MMA) LC-MS method:
- Reversed Phase method with excellent separation between MMA and Succinyl Acid
- No need for derivatisation and positive mode measurements
- MMA-D3 internal standard lyophilized
- Six-points calibrator set in human serum
- Complex Precision CV is < 5%
- Relative long column life time
Component:
- Methylmalonic Acid (Methylmalonate, MMA)
At a glance:
- Matrix: serum/plasma
- Technique: LC-MS/MS
- Internal Standard: Methylmalonic Acid-D3
Intended use
The Diagnotix MMA LC-MS kit is developed to determine the patient's MMA concentration as a basis for further diagnostics.
Technical benefits
- Based on Reversed-Phase LC-MS/MS technology. LC-MS/MS allows the possibility to measure MMA from blood.
- Stable retention time while having complete separation of MMA and its isobar, succinic acid.
- The simple setup of the method allows for easy integration of other methodologies before or after, on the same LC-MS/MS system, without the need for extended conditioning time.
- Due to the chromatographic stability you achieve high data quality and win time in data-analysis.
- Refer to the technical details for the outstanding validation scores.
Why choosing for blood sampling over urine sampling
Serum samples are generally used for MMA determination, as this matrix is used for parallel cobalamin level tests. The advantage of determination from serum therefore is the sample availability. Furthermore nutrition seems to have less influence on the MMA serum level than in case with urine. For determination in urine additional measurement of creatinine is also necessary.
Especially interesting for: Laboratories running large numbers of samples once or more times per week
