LCMS - Cortisol & Cortisone in urine
Cortisol & Cortisone Urine LC-MS reagens kit (by SPE clean up)
The Cortisol & Cortisone reagents set from diagnotix • •• can determine the concentrations of both cortisol and cortisone in urine or saliva.
Advantages of the Diagnotix Cortisol & Cortisone LC-MS method:
- 6-point calibrator based on Human urine like matrix
- Internal standard with deuterium labeled cortisol and cortisone
- Proper product clean-up using SPE-columns
- Extremely sensitive, making it possible even the very low concentrations in saliva can be measured
- The kit does not include SPE material, allowing you to purchase it directly from the manufacturer in your preferred format at the best price to meet your laboratory's specific requirements.
Intended use
The Diagnotix Cortisol & Cortisone LC-MS Kit is specifically designed to measure cortisol and cortisone concentrations in patient samples, providing a reliable foundation for further diagnostic evaluations.
Technical benefits
- Advanced Sample Preparation: Effectively removes contaminants and background compounds, ensuring high-quality data and cleaner analyses.
- Extended Column Lifespan: Reliable performance reduces the need for frequent replacements.
- Simplified Data Analysis: User-friendly workflows for efficient interpretation of results, due to low background noise.
Especially interesting for:
- Laboratories processing high sample volumes on a weekly or daily basis.
- Laboratories prioritizing clean LC-MS systems to minimize downtime and maintenance costs.
- Facilities utilizing LC-MS systems for multiple methodologies, requiring robust and consistent performance every run.

Clinical relevance
The ratio between cortisol and cortisone is of clinical importance with the diagnosis of Cushing syndrome. This even indicates apparent mineralocorticoid excess, a disease where the 11β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase-activity is weakened significantly or is even absent.
